Jazzaldia is one of the oldest jazz festivals in Europe, occuring every July in the town of Donostia/San Sebastián, on the northern coast of Spain. The identity is inspired by the heritage of San Sebastián as a sea-side resort, particularly as depicted in art-deco advertisements of the 1930s, as well as the cutting-edge architecture displayed in the Kurssal Auditorium, the festival's largest event space. I paired a fresh and geometric logotype with a beachy color palette and a wave motif that promises summer excitement.
A custom geometric sans that forms the backbone of the public promotional campaign features deco-inspired traits that pay homage to the city as a seaside resort and destination.
